Lee Sang Won

Artist LEE SANG WON observes the lives of ordinary people. He tries to find specific patterns that repeat within it. Most of the stories in the paintings are constructed and drawn in a way that runs counter to these observations.

By depicting crowds moving or gathering in a specific place for a particular purpose through landscape paintings, the artist captures the various stories of life that contemporary people view and think about.

The 'WALKING MAN' series has captured the daily encounters of modern people through various media over the years and simplified them into animation, creating human characters as a motif. It has the meaning of being a starting point for expanding the artist's work in the future, but it is also expanding into a project that shows the possibility of new challenges that have yet to emerge.

"GOLDEN WALKING MAN," presented for the first time this time, is a three-dimensional work that simplifies the Walking shape with the motif of the character human (人) and consists of 12 pieces.  Pure gold (24K) is one of the various materials used to create the 'WALKING MAN'  series. This exhibition is also in the process of multiple experiments. The artist will continue to show that he focuses on the contemplation process of finding, experimenting, and visualizing a theme rather than showing various conceptual or formally completed works.
