KIM NAM PYO
Artist KIM NAM PYO's relentless dedication to portraying the intense desire for expression in his inner world is evident in his perfect realistic expression, screen composition, arrangement, and powerful brush strokes. The 'UNMASK' series, as THE ONE PIECE OF ART, is a testament to his unwavering commitment and will be presented to capture his new breath.
Through the lion's eyes, which look intense but a little tired, the harsh breathing felt through the mouth covered with blood after hunting, and the feelings of anxiety, joy, wonder, and sadness that we did not recognize through the lion's face. Rather than showing and distorting it more intensely than it is, the artist Kim Nam-pyo is breathing with us and pulling out the things behind it that look different depending on the emotion and state of mind looking at the lion's face.
Through this one-piece art, the artist creates a new way of communicating with viewers. Place a chair in front of the work, and the viewer sits on the chair, making eye contact with the lion.
The one-piece art video shows that the sick chair is lonely in a busy city. On the last screen of the video, the chair moves to the artist's studio, and the artist is sitting in the chair in the studio. In this way, the artist sees all the phenomena shown in our eyes as the reality that occurs in reality and portrays the truth behind it, which we do not want to lift again through painting.
A one-piece art video shows the sick chair lying lonely in a busy city. On the last screen, the chair moves to the artist's studio, and the artist sits in it.
With the connection between unfamiliarity and heterogeneity, the old chair surrounds us, and no one gives us interest or attention. Still, it exists and travels through time, searching for its meaning.
Therefore, "Traveler_Traveler" is another theme of artist Kim Nam-pyo's One Piece Art. The artist's exploration of various phenomena and objects that coincide and how to approach them through pictorial interpretation lead to the artist's multiple actions, and there are materials that the artist has chosen to enable the actions. It is called "Traveler_Traveler" as a symbolic meaning for the artist's thoughts and anguish that do not stop.
In this way, the artist looks at all the phenomena shown in our eyes as the reality that occurs in reality and portrays the truth behind the scenes that we do not want to hear back in painting.
In the "UNMASK" SERIES, The old liger, drawn with the touch of a brush applied to the canvas, depicts an old and ill one who has become a hindrance. It asks how to talk about abstract emotions through objects or figures in the pictorial sense of drawing and stories of the reality that humans face.
New works and visitors meet as one-piece art circulates in the exhibition hall. Even when the job is completed, he encounters one-piece art that shows another perspective on art as he continues to change, breathing with space.
