ZU YEON

Artist ZU YEON has expanded his monotype print work, which involves applying black ink to metal and printing circular images of plants or objects collected over the years, to build a world of work based on the concept of 'PLAY' with the various objects we encounter.
A monotype engraves a flat drawing printed by painting or inking a dull metal, glass, or plastic sheet. Although it is similar to silkscreening, the monotype engraving method created by a renowned artist is a unique engraving method that allows you to print even delicate lines by placing the desired object on a metal plate painted with ink, covering it, and pressing it with a piece. This can be seen as the appeal of monotype prints, which exclude the reproducibility of regular prints and have only one unique value, like a canvas painting. Through this exhibition, she develops and establishes a new mono-painting genre and presents new challenges that have yet to be attempted through new concepts.
